About Us

Welcome to Rayri Kinara! Located 150 km from Mumbai & 170 km from Pune and 15 km off Diveagar beach, Village Sarve and Adgaon together known as  Rayri Kinara, is the representation of Konkan.        The Konkan, is the epitome of beauty and nature, blessed with clean coastlines, rich forests and vibrant culture.

The project is the brain child of Swades Foundation, founded by Ronnie and Zarina Screwvala. The Foundation operates with the single-minded focus of empowering Rural India and aims to empower village communities with the capability of creating choices for themselves and their families, allowing them to transform their own lives and ensuring a permanent and irreversible change for good.

Along with Grassroutes (a venture in responsible village hospitality services) Swades aims at developing villages along the coastline in responsible Konkan tourism. Aimed at showcasing the natural beauty and way of life in the village, Rayri Kinara is being promoted as a means of sustainable livelihoods and additional income generation means for the village communities at Sarve and Adgaon.

The villagers are trained to provide experiences that lasts a lifetime with the tourists. The services and goods are locally sourced as much as possible, (including local, mostly organic meals), ensuring local benefits. The visitors can even get an exposure of local community life which means participating or witnessing village games, trying their hands on farming and fishing, cooking Konkani dishes or go trekking – all could be unique feature for the people and children from urban areas.
